Phase 5 of the Children, Young People & Families Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund has now launched. This fund is open to organisations who work within school clusters in North Lanarkshire to support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and families.
Applications should be based on the needs analysis which has been submitted by Cluster Improvement and Integration Leads (CIILs), and which highlights the main needs and requests for a cluster. Applications should be submitted for individual clusters, but applicants can put applications in for multiple clusters.
Applications will be open until Wednesday 29th May, 5pm. We will be hosting a session on 20th May for anyone who has any questions about applying. Children and Young People Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund (Phase 5)
Fund Purpose
An integrated model for delivering support to children and their families with additional needs is currently being piloted in North Lanarkshire utilising funding from Scottish government via the Empowering Cluster Integrated Model. This approach will deliver tailored support to children and young people (age range of 5-24 & up to 26 for care experienced young people) in their local communities. The aim of the fund is to enhance local provision and deliver on the ambitions within the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework.

Award Process
- Organisations submit applications during application period. Applications are based on needs analysis which are provided by CIILs.
- Funding decisions are made by a panel consisting of representatives from: - VANL - Cluster Improvement Intergration Lead - Health Improvement, NHS - Community Learning Development - School nurse - Educational psychology
- An award letter is then issued directly to the organisation being funded, with the relevant Host copied in.
- The funded project returns signed acceptance section of the award letter and an invoice for the full award amount, quoting the unique purchase number order, to SPO. All paperwork is saved in a Spoint folder and a link sent to Finance.
- Once satisfied all paperwork is present and correct, Finance staff will process each invoice in Xero and SMCS approves it on system, Funds are then released to project in next payment run.
Reporting by funded projects
Projects funded through the Children, Young People and Families fund Phase 5 submit an Interim Report to VANL in November 24, and an End-of-Project Report in June 2025.

VANL produces a fund-specific annual Impact and Learning report for the Children, Young People and Families fund. Publication date tbc.
