Seed Grant Applications

The Seed Grant Fund is now open for applications!

The Seed Grant is small grant funding of up to £1000 available to community groups and organisations in Lanarkshire. The purpose of the Seed Grant is to help start a climate action project in your community or carry out community engagement around climate change.

A climate action project in your local area is one that aims to:

  • mitigate or adapt to climate change
  • increase biodiversity and/or
  • work towards a fairer, healthier and more sustainable future.

Community engagement around climate change involves activities that build your group’s capacity. For example you could use the grant towards:

  • Cost of climate awareness training for your community
  • Developing a website to promote your activities
  • Volunteer expenses (including those for learning visits to other projects)
  • Undertaking community research or surveys.

Applications are open from May 2024 and applications will be assessed each month. The first review will take place on 20 June.  Assessment of applications will take place on the 20th of each month. When the 20th falls on a weekend, applications will be assessed on the next working day following the 20th
