Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) 2024- Funding Applications

Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival 2024 is open for funding applications!

This year’s festival will take place across Scotland from 10 – 27 October 2024, exploring the theme of ‘In/Visible’.

“Our theme will consider what it means to be ‘visible’ or ‘invisible’ when we think about our mental health. Which aspects of our mental health do we keep hidden and which do we feel able to share? How can we use the arts and creativity to make mental health more ‘visible’, in a way that engages people and challenges stigma?”

The festival aims to promote positive attitudes towards mental health, mental illness, support and recovery, and to effect significant cultural change through the insights and influences of the create arts. The festival fundamentally seeks to strengthen the links between arts, community and public organisations.

Applications for up to £800 are being welcomed for initiatives that:

  • Promote positive attitudes around mental health problems.
  • Increase understanding of mental health and well-being – and how we can promote and support our own and others mental health and well-being.
  • Increase awareness of what help and support is available.

Applications will close on the 7th of June.
