New LAF changes 2025-26

Every year we take on feedback from our Locality Hosts and Consortium members around the Local Activity Fund process.

Following on from the feedback we have received, the following changes have been made to the process:

  • Renaming of the organisational review process to governance review and releasing awarded funding once this is complete
  • Increased guidance around the ineligibility of “core costs”
  • Increased guidance around therapies
  • Increased guidance around staffing costs
  • Standardisation of the North Localities eligibility checklist resource
  • Increased signposting of multi locality applications to the Community Solutions Thematic Fund
  • Split of LAF Guidance document between consortium members and hosts and LAF Applicants
  • Inclusion of GDPR Statement in Guidance and Consortium Membership
  • Requirement for 2 contact details in the LAF Application
  • Inclusion of Organisation Address in award letter
  • More information to be provided to hosts around VANL payment cycle and awards paid out to organisations
  • Guidance outlining organisations over £1m in annual income are no longer eligible for LAF funding unless needs can’t be met by another means
  • Funding cap for LAF will be lowered to £3,000 from £5,000
  • Applicants must cite LOIP priorities the application will support
