The Local Activity Funding awarded by the Airdrie Consortium enabled the organisation to bring a fantastic artist, Kristine Walker, to teach a Clay Highland Coo workshop. This workshop was delivered to their Peer Support Group, along with members of their Virtual Peer Support Group.  The workshop was delivered over two days and participants were asked to provide feedback on their workshops and highland coos experience:

“Very therapeutic sessions, they have allowed me to gain new skills. I enjoyed using my hands and loved the ability to be creative. I felt really zoned in during the process, it allowed me to focus on something whilst having a sense of calm and definitely a sense of achievement at the end. I had to be patient and accept imperfection, both of which I struggle but it didn’t feel so at the time. Kristine was great and I loved that she started the session off with a meditation. Fantastic experience!”

“I had a positive and interesting time. Lots of fun and friends got me out the house and connecting with great people. The art really helps me live. It was a brilliant opportunity to be creative and involved in a fun activity in a safe and supportive environment. I would encourage more sessions like this.”

“It was great to have the meditation first to clear the head for the therapeutic arts seeing the clay transform into the “Coo” was magical. I felt this activity was great for my mental health.”
