Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund (Phase 4)

Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund – Phase 4 will be open for applications on 6th September 2024.

Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL) is delighted to announce that Phase Four of this fund will be open for applications from the 6th September 2024.  VANL has received £955K of funding from the Scottish Government to support community and voluntary sector groups to contribute to the fund’s purpose of:

  • improving mental health and wellbeing
  • reducing mental health inequalities
  • reducing mental health inequalities caused by the cost-of-living crisis
  • reducing the stigma around mental health and illness

by supporting “at risk” groups in North Lanarkshire through community-based support.

Similarly to Phase Three of the fund, there are three options for applicants which have now been updated in phase four:

  • continued funding for projects funding in Phase 1,2 or 3
  • new projects that have not received funding through this fund to date
  • Under Represented Groups for projects specifically targeting one or more of the following groups:
    • Additional Support Needs (ASN),
    • Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME)
    • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer + (LGBTQ+)
    • Refugees with no recourse to public funds
    • Women (particularly young women and women of all ages affected by domestic abuse)

More information about the application process and the fund will be available on the Community Solutions website on 6th September 2024. Please make sure you are signed up to all VANL ebulletins to make sure you are notified when the fund launches.

Background

The Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, an important Scotland-wide funding initiative for community and voluntary sector (CVS) organisations, funded by the Scottish Government and with fund management through the 32 Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) across Scotland on behalf of the government.

VANL – as the TSI for the area – launched Phase One of the Fund in North Lanarkshire, in late 2021, awarding over £1.6 million in funds by March 2022. VANL launched Phase Two in late 2022 with £955K in funds awarded by March 2023 and additionally launched phase Three in late 2023 with additional £955K in funds awarded in March 2024. The fund is managed by VANL as part of our Health and Social Care North Lanarkshire Community Solutions programme.
