Community Anchor Organisations are absolute pillars of the community and voluntary sector on the 2nd of February, VANL launched the Community Anchor Organisation Development Fund. Through this fund, VANL wished to support the development and growth of, and increase recognition of, Community Anchor Organisations. The aim being to support six organisations (one per locality) through:
- Providing £10,000 per year for three years to support daily delivery
- Receiving support from VANL to develop and integrate the services provided into the wider health and social care landscape
On 20th February the fund closed for applications and today we are delighted to announce the 6 organisations we will supporting over the coming 3 years to further develop as Community Anchor Organisations and these are listed below:
- Airdrie Locality- Cairnlea Parish Church
- Bellshill Locality- YMCA Bellshill & Mossend
- Coatbridge- Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre
- Motherwell- The Health and Wellness Hub
- The North- Freedom City Church
- Wishaw & Shotts- Getting Better Together
We are delighted to announce we will be supporting and working with these 6 organisations and look forward to seeing how they continue to floursih over the coming years!
